Sri Malola Nithaya Aradhanai Fund

Sri Ahobila Mutham is unique among Sri Vaishnava institutions. Here are some of the reasons.
  • It is the only institution that is also one among the 108 Dhivya Desams eulogized by the Azhvars, namely, Ahobilam.
  • Since the time of Srimad Athivan Satakopa Jeeyar, the founder of Sri Ahobila Mutham, this Perumal, called Malolan, has been on Sancaram (tour) going to devotee's places and blessing them. Devotees go to all other Dhivya Desams to get blessed. Only Malolan comes to the devotees. Such is this Lord's compassion.
  • Malolan in the one and only Dhivya Desa perumal for whom daily Aradhanai is performed by a Sanyasi, that too a king among Yatees, called Azhagiya Singar.
Due to the unique nature of Sri Ahobila Mutham the expenses for the Sri Mutham is very high.
  • The constant sancharam (touring), requires a tremendous amount of funds in terms of maintaining a fleet of busses, repair and replacement of busses, and fuel.
  • Daily Aradhanai according to tradition involves a large number of kainkaryaparas (employees for want of a better word) who must be paid at least minimum wage.
  • Sri Ahobila Mutham runs a Sanskrit University and a school at Madhurandhagam where all the students get free education, boarding and lodging.
  • There are 6 divya desams/Sannithis that are under Sri Ahobila Muth's responsibility.
  • Sri Ahobila Mutham has many branches located near many temples. They do not have independent income and rely on Srimad Azhagiya Singar for daily maintenance and occasional renovation.
All of the above have had a tremendous impact and continues to be a major strain upon the meager resources of Sri Ahobila Muth.

Since the time Srimad Azhagiya Singar took over the administration of Sri Ahobila Mutham, HH has been on constant sancharam and raised substantial amount of funds. But they were just enough to keep pace with increasing expenses. The savings have not been significant. This was not only due to on going expenses, but also due to to the huge debts from the past that were repaid and new construction such as the Thiruppati complex, Guest House at Ahobilam, new building at Selaiyur, major temple renovation work and Mahasamprokhanam at Ahobilam, Thiruvallur, Thirukkudandhai, etc.,

A large part of Srimad Azhagiya Singar's precious time is spent raising funds. To alleviate this situation and also make it a little easier for the Sri Sannithi to concentrate upon religious activities, Srimad Azhagiya Singar has established a goal of raising Rs. 10 crores. This amount will be wisely invested by professionals with proper financial training and experience. The income generated from the fund will be used for the on-going expenses of the Sri Mutham.

So far Rs. 2.25 crores have been raised. The balance will have to be raised as soon as possible.
