Picture tour of Ahobilam temple

This is a picture tour of the Nrisimha shrines of Ahobila hills. The Nava Nrisimhars of Ahobilam are glorified in this verse:

Jwala Ahobila Malola Kroda Karanja Bhargava
Yogananda Kshatravata Pavana Nava Moorthayaha.

Besides these nine, three are three more shrines in Ahobilam. They are Ugra Sthambam, Prahaladha Padi, and Keezh Ahobilam.

Ugrasthambam: Unlike the other shrines there is no Nrisimha moorthy at Ugrasthambam. The entire hill is considered the Ugrasthambam shrine. A small sthambam installed at the top of the hill indicates the site where Hiranyakasipu was killed by the Lord.

Prahaladhapadi: This shrine is located in a rocky valley. This location is believed to be Prahaladha's Gurukulam. The shrine is inside a small cave.

Keezhahobilam: Keezhahobilam is one of the two main temples (Lakshmisrimhar at Melahobilam is the other) where daily aradhanai is performed. Several Uthsava moorthees of the nine Nrisimhars in the hills are kept here for safe keeping. There are two wonderful uthsava moorthees of Srimad Athivan Satakopan, the founder Jeeyar of Srimad AHobila Mutt, at this temple. One of these two moorthees holding Sri Lakshminrisimha in HH's hands is a feast to our eyes.
