The do's
- Contact Parthasarati Dileepan if you have any questions.
- Dial into the conference bridge from 3 minutes before the start time.
You may either hear music on hold, or just silence. We are allowed to get the India line set
up from about 10 minutes before the start time. Depending upon how quickly
we are able get the India line, the length of hold time for the listeners will vary from 2
minutes to 10 minutes or more. The conference will begin only after we successfully establish
connection with India.
- Promptly hang up after the conference is over.
And the don'ts
Since we charge a flat rate to our listeners we ask that you do not do any of the
following:
- Do not use 3-way calling with a friend or family member even from the same exchange. You will
not be saving money. Three way calls into the bridge are treated as two separate
calls and billed as such by the bridge company.
- Do not hang up in between. The calls are charged for the entire duration of the
conference irrespective of when a particular call comes into the bridge or hangs up.
The duration of all the calls is determined by when the
first call comes into the bridge and when the bridge is cleared of all calls.
Thus, all calls will be charged for the duration of
the conference irrespective of how long a particular caller stays with the conference.
- After calling the conference bridge, do not hang up and immediately call the
bridge again. Apparently, the systems will detect that as a three-way call
and charge us for two lines. Therefore, if you have to hang up for some reason,
please give a five-minute gap before calling the conference bridge back again.
If this happens please let us know.
