  • His Holiness 45th Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Mutt
    Sri Ahobila Muth of USA, was started in March 1995 with the blessings of His Holiness the 45th Jeer. It started functioning as a nonprofit trust. In 1996 the trust was converted into a corporation with IRS approval for non-profit privileges.

    The Ahobila Muth, USA is currently involved in a number of projects initiated by the Jeeyar. Some require funds, and others just participation. If you are interested please contact one of us.     Activities

    Tele-upanyasam
    Telephonic upanyasams by HH the Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Matham is conducted approoximately every other week. About one hundred listerners participate in this activity.

    Sri Malola Padhuka Sevaka net
    This is an e-mail list dedicated to presenting and exchanhing views and experieces about Sri Sampradayam according to the teachings of Swami Sri Desikan. This is self-moderated list. What we mean by self moderation is that all members are required to affirm to follow the rules and regulations of the e-mail list.     108 Dhivya Desam CD
    We are in the process of producing a CD-ROM for the computer about the 108 Dhivya Desams. These are the temples about which Azhvars have sung hymns. If you wish to participate in this activity please contact one of the board members or the site manager.

    Books and other publications
    The publishing arm of Sri Ahobila Matham is Sri Visishtadvaita Research Center. We in the U.S. carry a decent inventory of some of the publications of this center.

    Sri Nrisimha Priya of North America
    This newsletter is published roughly three times a year. It includes explanations of verses by Azhvars and Acharyas, small stories, scholarly articles, etc. It is distributed free of cost. If you are interested in receiving a copy please contact one of the board members or the site manager.

    Funding projects
    We also raise funds for various projects in India supported by Sri Ahobila Matham and other Sri Vaishnava institutions. Some of these projects are listed below. All donations will are 100% tax deductible in the U.S. if the checks are made out to Sri Ahobila Muth and mailed to: 425 W Side Drive, Apt 301, Gaithersburg MD 20878. Each contributor will receive a receipt from Sri Ahobila Muth for tax purposes. In addition, special blessings from HH the Jeeyar will be provided if requested.

    • Renovation of Sri Athivan Satakopa Jeeyar's brindhavanam
      Srimad Azhagiya Singar has started the renovation at a cost of about Rs. 30 lakhs. This is the birth place as well as the place from where the first Jeeayr ascended to Sri vaikuntam. About Rs 15. lakhas have been already raised. The remaining needs to be rasied.
    • Renovation of Sri Ahobhila Muth at Terazhundur
      Terazhundur Ahobhila Mutt is an ancient one. Due to the ravages of time, the old structure had developed cracks in many places, and demanded immediate renovation of the entire structure. The approximate cost of reconstruction came to around Rs.10 lakhs. Most of the work is now complete. However, since the Renovation Committee has run our of funds the work remains incomplete. All that is needed is another Rs. 1.5 lakhs.
    • Sri Ahobila Muth's Balaji Mandir at Pune
      As per the directions of His Holiness thge 45th Jeeyar, it has been proposed to build a Sri Balaji Mandir resembling the Deities (Murthis) and structures of Tirupati temple.
    • Gurukulam Project
      This project was initiated during the 600th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Ahobila Matham. The objective is to sufficiently fund the future scholars who will serve as the Acharyas of not only Sri Ahobila Matham, but also other Sri Vaishnava institutions. This project will support college graduates to pursue advanced study of Sri Vaishnava texts (Granthas).
    • Annadhana Vidyadhana Trust
      This trust supports the youngs boys studying in the Oriental School run by Sri Ahobila Matham at Madurandhagam. Many of the boys are from poor families. Some of these boys do not go home for for the holidays because their families are unable to even feed them properly. Contrinution are invested in fixed deposit schemes and the interest is used to feed and clothe the boys. A contribution of $1,000 covers the interest for 1 day. Contributors can select any day of their choice, say marriage anniversary, or srardham, etc. for recognition. Prasadam from Sri Rama temple will be sent to the contributor on that day.
    • Publication of rare books
      Over the years many accomplished Panditas have written scores of books in Samskritam, Tamil, and in English. Many of these are now out of print. Those that are available are falling apart. This scheme is for republishing these books.
